Janette Carroll, DDS
I enjoy being an integral part in helping people live better lives. I feel it is an honor to be selected by my patients to help them, and when I improve someone's self esteem, that is a powerful satisfaction for me. I've heard it said that beauty may be within, but it's not going to get out if that person is insecure. I've seen transformations in which my patients are finally able to feel confident in expressing the beauty of their smiles, and that makes my day every time!
Education
In order to become a dentist, I graduated from the Southern California School of Dentistry. I am also a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute of Dental Studies, which is a premier cosmetic and neuromuscular training program. The training at this institute allows me to treat complex situations, with a better understanding about smile design, chewing function, and headache therapies. My patients benefit from this knowledge with a prettier smile, comfortable chewing and disappearing headaches. Additionally, I have had extensive training with Invisalign, the clear aligner system to straigten teeth. As a part of my continuing education, I also have a certificate in soft tissue laser treatment.
In the Practice
I get great satisfaction in helping people stay healthy and helping them achieve nicer smiles. I understand the health links between the mouth and the rest of the body and take great pride in my ability to help change the lives of many people for the better. People visit their dentist and hygienist more than their medical doctor, so we are in a position to really help them obtain optimum health.
I practiced in Seattle for 13 years and have been in Mount Vernon for 11 years, so I've been practicing dentistry for 24 years now. The smiles and gratitude I receive from improving a patients smile is an incredible feeling. There is a personal fulfillment for me when I can create a beautiful smile.
I have really nice patients who are interested in maintaining their health. They may not be able to take careof all their dental issues quickly, but we work together to create a game plan so that they can get the dentistry they are looking for. I enjoy working with them to give them what they want.
Family and Community
I’ve lived the past 43 years of my life in Washington, and am proud to have raised my family here. I have three wonderful daughters who I am very proud of. Rebecca is in dental school at University of Pacific in San Francisco, and will graduate with the class of 2013. Michaela is a skin care consultant with Rodan and Fields. My adopted daughter, Kealey, works with me creating beautiful smiles! My family also includes my precious grandson Ayden.
In my spare time, I love to be outdoors! I’m a previous mountaineer, and have climbed Mount Rainier, Forbidden Peak, the Matterhorn, the Schreckhorn, and the Eiger ridge in Switzerland. I also travel to Cambodia once a year and spend time in an orphanage playing with the kids and of course treating their teeth.
